Saleh bin Awad bin Saleh Al-Maghamsi Al-Harbi (November 17, 1963 / Rajab 1, 1383 AH) is a Saudi Islamic preacher and scholar of Islamic law, and an imam at the Prophet's Mosque in Medina since February 21, 2026. He was previously the imam and preacher of Quba Mosque in Medina, the first mosque built in Islam. His Birth and Upbringing: He was born in the village of Khayf Al-Hazami in Wadi Al-Safra, in the Badr Governorate, west of Medina. He later moved to Medina, settling in the Bab Al-Kuma neighborhood, and then to the Al-Kurdi area. It was there that his religious career began, as he led prayers at the Al-Salam Mosque for the first time and remained its imam for twenty years. He is a faculty member at the College of Education at Taibah University, a former imam and preacher of Quba Mosque, secretary of the Imams Committee in Medina, former director general of the Medina Research and Studies Center, and a Quranic commentator, scholar, and writer. He is known by the kunya Abu Hashim, after his eldest son.
